Secura Mountains

The Secura Mountain Range covers the northern tip of the central continent, as a sort of cap to the Free Lands of Fife. These mountains, however, have proven an unyielding border to the territorial spread of the Free Lands. Though the rough terrain and complex cave system are nothing compared to the mind-boggling web of the Black Pockets in Antenora, they are baffling enough to newcomers while manipulable to its denizens, who regard themselves as the last hope for orcish rule on the continent.

Secura’s “mountain orcs” are not actually native to the mountains. They were driven out of the central continent when the elves first filtered in a century ago. The orcish clans then were weakened by infighting among clans and the first elvish push past the River Glamis quickly scattered the natives of what is now known as Fife.

Yet there are rumors of a true union of orcs in the Secura Mountains. They call themselves the Red Hand, and while some scouts have ranged into the mountains to report armed ranks of orcs and banners bearing a red fist amid flames, few privateers have entered the mountains and returned.
